Homeopathy for cats is as good as it is for people or any other animal. In homeopathy, there is no difference in the species, the same remedies are used. Homeopathic treatment is all about re-balancing an inner wobble. This lack of natural balance prevents the patient from accessing their innate ability to heal themselves, whatever the condition.
Ailments and illnesses are human based. Wild animals are much healthier than we are, including wild cats. The troubles start when the cat comes to live with us. Because we so lack inner balance, it is obvious to sensitive beings such as cats. They immediately understand this energetic signature and do their best to re-balance it.
Often this means they develop the same ailments as the people they support.
So to really help your cat, the first thing is to get your and your family’s health sorted out holistically. Our poor health gives us a chance to see life for what it really is. Are we ill because we mix with many negative people at work? A change in jobs would be a good start, but if we are so easily influenced, then the problem may follow us.
Once we have moved on from such issues, with good homeopathic treatment ourselves, the load on our animals is much reduced. They can then look after themselves better.
Of course, health care isn’t that easy. There are a multitude of areas that influence and disturb the health of our cats. Some of the strongest ones include:
- a diet that is not in keeping with a cats natural diet (aka commercial cat food)
- an environment which does not allow the cat freedom – eg exclusively inside cats, cats confined outside without adequate shelter, cats kept confined in cages, etc
- the presence of chemicals in their environment – cats are extremely sensitive to chemicals
- past chemical health care (aka veterinary)
- health care that does not honour the individual’s choices
- unresolved emotional disturbances such as fright, shock, grief, trauma, etc
The above shows you just how complicated health care is. There is no quick fix. The whole picture needs to be examined before an appropriate (and so effective) treatment can be prescribed. This is obviously a case for a professional homeopathic therapist/veterinarian.
Using homeopathy for cats involves understanding not only what their present symptoms are, but also when they first became sick and what happened to them in the days or weeks prior to this. Cats, like many animals, are good at hiding their true feelings. Even when we are close to them, we can misinterpret what they are experiencing.
Once you have seen homeopathy in action, both for yourself, as well as your cat and other family members, then you may feel it is an appropriate time to learn how to use some of the common remedies for acute prescribing. This can be immensely satisfying as well as enormously empowering. Imagine the thrill (as well as the expense saved) of successfully treating your cat after a minor injury. It’s just the same as treating yourself from the same affliction.
Homeopathic medicine for cats is no different from that for humans or elephants. But you do need to understand how to use it, as it is totally different from the use of medical (chemical) drugs.
People often search for homeopathic remedies for cats, such as homeopathic remedies for cat allergies. Whilst this is a good start, don’t try to treat your cat yourself with homeopathy until you understand a lot more about it. It isn’t just about getting the right remedy (and this in itself is far from easy as there are many things to consider). It’s also about the potency (strength) of the remedy and the frequency of the dose. As well as how your cat takes to its administration.
Homeopathy is an holistic health care discipline. In other words, the whole of the patient, as much as is possible, is taken into consideration. Don’t imagine for a moment that a novice can do an internet search, find a remedy, administer it and get results.
Health is complicated. Much has to be considered. However, I truly believe that good homeopathy for cats (ie considered and experienced) offers the best solutions for their long term health even with their poorly balanced human companions.
