Appreciating what the healthiest cat food is and putting it into action, is the best way to make your life easier, less stressful and to make your cat’s life healthier and happier. Truly, there is nothing better in terms of overall health. Or in the financial aspects.

Why Is Cat Health At An All Time Low?

The pet food industry is powerful. It has infiltrated veterinary schools. It teaches, in most cases it is the only teacher of, nutrition. To say that this is biased, that there is vested interest is an understatement.

And the vets themselves reward the industry well. They stock the pet food industry products from floor to ceiling and promote them exclusively.

All manner of reasons, all fake, are used to persuade you. People it seems, are easily duped when it comes from someone in a white coat. And, of course, the pet food industry knows that only too well.

However, this current epidemic of poor health in cats, rests in a very large part, at the feet of the pet food industry.

You have heard the expression “we are what we eat”. That has a much deeper meaning than most people realise. What it really means is that poor quality food, food inappropriate for the species, not enough food are all responsible for poor health.

Put the wrong fuel in your car and you can damage the engine. Feed your cat the wrong food, and you can damage their health. It isn’t immediate damage, so no connection is made. The body tries really hard to make the best of a bad lot. But, over time, cracks appear. It can’t be otherwise.

Feline stomatitis, feline renal failure are two of the most serious results and normally ends in their death.

Why Is Commercial Cat Food So Harmful?

The pet food industry is all about making a profit. So the ingredients are cheap. The pretty, expensive packets make you feel the contents must be equally good. They aren’t.

  • Cats are carnivores. The main ingredients in most commercial cat food is cheap plant based food.
  • Cats are extremely sensitive animals, far more so than we are. Yet, the preservatives used (and they are always present whatever the packet proclaims) are not allowed in human food due to the toxicity.
  • When meat products are added, they are the residue, poor quality protein, left over from the more lucrative human market.
  • The industry understands that the end result is poor quality, so they add in supplements. These are synthetic, which have very poor assimilation. Over time, usually years, they cause mischief in the body.

Again, no dots are connected because it took time for poor health to emerge.

What Is The Healthiest Cat Food?

It’s the one they evolved on. Cats are extremely successful in the wild. They have always been so. They adapt to local conditions well, as long as they have a supply of fresh prey.

This means, you should be feeding a cat raw meat and bones. It should be wet. It should be fresh.

This is their evolutionary diet. They have adapted perfectly to it. There are no ifs and buts. It makes them healthy. It keeps them healthy. The likelihood of the development of autoimmune diseases, renal failure or stomatitis drops significantly, as do the plethora of acute conditions.

Not only is the healthiest cat food one of the most economical cat foods, it is also one of the most economical ways of keeping a cat. Your cat is so healthy, you forget your vet’s name.

Change Can Be Resisted

I’m not here to make you feel better about your bad choices. Or to support you in propping you up with band aid efforts. I’m not here to beat about the bush. I’m here to tell you, that diet is one of the most important aspects of health. Feed your cat the healthiest cat food and everything falls into place.

It comes down to you. Are you ready to make some dramatic changes in your and your cat’s lives?

The most difficult part of change is getting your head around the new idea. That means help is often needed.

Some cats adapt to the new diet as if they had been waiting for you to get it. Others may have become junkies and need determined effort.

You don’t have to do this on your own. But only you can start. Only you can be determined enough to ensure it becomes second nature.

My cat has switched to the BARF diet. Is frozen BARF, that defrosts in the fridge the night before okay? How much should her daily intake be? In other words, what percentage of her weight (lbs/kg)? She is 6 years old and quite sedentary.

Feeding some frozen food is OK, but you should also feed some fresh. Freezing does destroy some nutrition found in fresh meat, although it is much less destructive than cooking. An average meal for average cats is 2oz or 60gm, with 2 meals a day. Then you can vary that slightly if they are too thin/fat, if they are very active/inactive, if the elements are very cold/hot.. Details on how to feed your cat yourself, by-passing any brand, is in my ebook – https://naturalcathealth.com/vibrant
