Now, have a look at the typical ingredients on a packet of commercial cat food.

It's usually a long list of plant based foods, chemicals masquerading as nutritional supplements, maybe a little animal protein (almost always of questionable quality) and a variety of other chemicals to colour, flavour, preserve.

It's a far cry from a healthy, natural  diet.

Most cats are now confined indoors, limiting their ability to treat themselves naturally. In some situations, it is unavoidable, such as with high rise apartments or close to busy roads.

Humans do very well on carbohydrates as long as they are whole. 

Cats don't.

We're not the same.
