The process of disease in cats is much the same as in anyone, although one must take into consideration the cat’s anatomy and physiology as well as their natural way of life.
In a nutshell, it’s about what ISN’T natural in their lives and what experiences/traumas adversely affect them. Because they have evolved in their natural way of life for many millions of years, which serves them to perfection.
One of the most traumatic occurrences in a cats life is being taken away from their mother at too early an age. In nature, the mother cat would keep her kittens until they are proficient in their hunting skills. That wouldn’t be before around 9 - 12 months. Taking them away too early can case a deep grief.
Ask any foster child, and they want to be with their natural parents, however bad the circumstances.
To a large extent, this grief can be healed by a loving and caring human family.
The next biggy is the food. Mother cat will introduce her kittens to her fresh kills at around 5 - 6 weeks old, when they start to show an interest. They may gnaw at the meat, while being supplemented by Mama’s milk.
At around 7 - 8 weeks old, they’ll start to manage crunching up the small bones of the prey.
By about 3 months of age, they’ll be reluctant to be totally weaned, but most of their diet will be from the prey Mama manages to catch, if she’s a proficient hunter and the conditions are good.
Their immune systems will be strong on the diet, and they’ll be starting to learn to hunt themselves, maybe restricted to easy insects at this age.
Compare that with the commercial cat food (most of which is plant based food, ‘supplemented’ with synthetic ‘nutrients’, and cooked at very high temperatures and pressures).
It isn’t surprising that the immune system struggles on this nutrient deficient and inappropriate diet. Discharges appear, maybe from the eyes, nose and ears. Diarrhoea occurs. Appetite may decrease.
So off they go to the vet who prescribes, not a healthy diet, which would fix most of these early problems, but antibiotics and anti-diarrhoeas. At the very least. Which suppress the immune system. But since the ‘problems’ go away, at least temporarily, under the suppression of the immune system, everyone seems happy, except your cat. The process of disease in cats, your cat, has started.
Continuing on with the poor diet, the next thing your cat is subjected to, is sterilisation, mostly at far too young an age. Everyone needs their hormones to grow. Sterilising a cat too early, before they are fully grown and mature, which is so common today, knocks the immune system back badly.
And to add insult to injury, often other drugs are added in at this vulnerable time.
And so it continues, with more problems emerging and more immune suppressive veterinary drugs. Of course this leads to chronic disease such as diabetes, kidney issues, stomatitis, leukemia, cancer, etc. How could it not?
In the past, these health conditions tended to occur later in the life of the cat, but as the overall health of cats deteriorate, this is happening at younger and younger ages. It’s logical.
But the ex-spurts, who you mistakenly rely on for your knowledge of caring for your precious family member, are not trained, or are unable, to make a connection. There is no direct connection seen because the cat, as in every life form, tries so valiantly to manage to survive even in the most adverse conditions.
Poor diet, immune suppressive drugs and surgeries, perhaps poor living conditions, and every cat, as well as every dynamic being, tries to live, against all odds.
The single most important thing you, and only you, can do is to change the diet to a good quality one that closely resembles a cats natural diet. Some cats take to it straight away. Others resist. Maybe they’re junkie cats. Maybe they’re picking up on your doubts.
The way I suggest you go about this is to make it simple. Simple is easy. Simple is understandable, although it’s still change. Don’t make this more complicated than it needs to be, otherwise you won’t get there.
Whilst a nutrient dense and natural diet in keeping with your cats origins is likely to make a big difference to their health, they may still need some help.
Homeopathic treatment works by restoring the health of the immune system to its former glory, or natural state. It works in accordance with your cats natural and innate ability to heal.
With this unparalleled combination, you can reverse the process of disease in cats. All cats. Even in some cats who are ‘beyond’ help, that vets like to kill off as they don’t know how to help.
