Safe Ways To Rid Your Cat of Fleas

may mean a total change of strategy

By Madeleine Innocent

There are safe ways to rid your cat of fleas, but it does involve a change of strategy. Simply doing what you have always done and hoping a pill will sort it is not going to work.

Why?

Because the cause has to be determined before any treatment can begin. And you may be the cause. Not because you are a bad person. More because you have been following the advice of those who are either not in the know or perhaps have a different agenda.

Causes of Cat Fleas

Fleas are doing you an admirable service. They are telling you that your cat is expelling toxins through the skin.

Fleas are scavengers and are only on your cat because there is food available.

Where Do The Toxins Come From?

Toxins can come from the outside, such as the food, the veterinary drugs, or from the inside when the digestion is taking too long and the food is decaying.

Commercial cat food is one of the biggest problems. The food is unsuitable, of poor quality and fortified with synthetic chemicals and preservatives.

This takes too long to digest, so the food starts to decay inside the warm environment.

Veterinary drugs and vaccines also carry their share of chemical toxins.

All this has to be eliminated somehow.

The normal elimination channels are not enough, so some is expelled through the skin.

And it's this that attracts fleas.

Veterinary Solutions

Veterinarians have been taught that the only solution to rid your cat of fleas is to kill the fleas. However, when you kill something, you create a vacuum. This means more come in.

When you deter something, you deter all.

In addition, the chemicals used to kill fleas are neurotoxins. Neurotoxins lead to seizures, paralysis and more.

Most holistic vets know this. This quote is from veterinarian Michael Lemmon.

“Popular flea collars contain powerful nerve gases. They can kill some fleas. They can also kill some pets and can do damage to children and adults handling the pet wearing the poisonous flea collar.”

They can also compromise the thyroid.

This isn't just true for flea collars. It's true for all veterinary flea treatments. They are all toxic and hazardous to health.

The Answer To Rid Your Cat of Fleas is Simple

When you switch the diet of your cat from commercial cat food to a quality raw meat and ones diet, the fleas will disappear as they no longer have any food to attract them.

This may not happen immediately as there is often a de-tox period during the transition.

A good quality meat and bones diet may still carry some toxins as our current world is more toxic than perhaps it has ever been, but they will be much less.

In addition, because the diet is specific to the species, ie what cats evolved on, the cat will be in a much healthier state and so more able to eliminate toxins.

Other Benefits

This diet can not only rid your cat of fleas, it can dramatically improve their overall health. Everything starts to improve.

That's good news for your cat, for you, and for your wallet.
